By 1906, there were over some such educational institutions, such as the Diocesan Boys' School (later relabeled Sherwood College) and the Philander Smith's college (later relabeled Halett War School, currently Birla Vidya Mandir).
St. Joseph's College, Nainital, a day-boarding and personal school designed by Irish brothers[citation needed] in 1888, recognized its 125th birthday in 2013. St. Joseph's College is famously known as SEM. Another important school was St. Mary's Convent, famously known as Ramnee, in 1878 which recognized its 125th birthday in year 2003.

Among them are the Durga Lal Shah Public Public Collection, on the Shopping middle, recognized in 1934;the Uttarakhand Academia of Management, Collection and Certification Center, Mallital;the ARIES Observatory Library; and the Kumaon School Collection, Nainital.
